The open-ended nature of our Playscope products makes them ideally suited for developing creativity in children and practitioners. As children play with a Playscope Treasure Basket the juxtaposition of the unusual objects sparks creativity as children quickly progress to exploring 'What can I do with this object?' and 'What can it become?' (Hughes, 2006) When combined with other resources or extended through the Activity Cards the potential for creativity is huge. Indeed the resources are inspiring children and adults to invent their own games.

The same is true of our award-winning Playmat, also designed to be used as a parachute, listening resource, target and prop for rhymes and stories. Described as a 'magnet for babies' (Nursery World), one year-olds variously gathered to sit and ‘read’ on the mat, made up their own rhymes and tucked themselves up saying ‘night night’. In contrast, Primary Schools are using the Playmat to zone spaces or act as a reward mat. The Fidget Mats, Sensory Bags, Story of the Loofah, Multi-Coloured floor Mats are all generating similar levels of creativity and versatility, with the latter being used as wheels for a car, hotplates, layers of a cake and stepping stones.
