Flower Rug and Sluggy Review by Parent

“Toby really liked the Sluggy. He would roll around with it on the floor, fiddle with the ribbons and jingle the bells to his heart’s content! He would lean on it when he was playing with other toys and generally make a bee-line for it. Toby also enjoyed playing on the mat. It was a nice place for tummy time and for reading books together etc. The mat arrived with a card outlining some stories and activities that could be done using the mat and the Sluggy together or individually. The mat has a waterproof backing which was great to allow Toby some nappy free playing time. We loved the lovely textures and colours of the items; the accompanying card giving lots of good ideas for play; and the fact that all items are machine washable. In all Toby really enjoyed playing with the sensory items. He enjoyed the different textures, sounds and colours. He particularly enjoyed playing with the Sluggy. I really think the toys encouraged him reach out to touch and to reach out to get a reaction and/or sound. I think the items could be used for a long time and can help children to develop a love of story time and independent play. The items were of a high quality and it is definitely a benefit that they were machine washable.”

“On first receiving the products my initial thought was that the product would be too young for my 18 month old child but he really adores it. He really enjoyed playing with the sensory items, especially the Sluggy which he cuddled for most of the first day we had it. Both parts are really well made and would suit boys and girls; I really think the toys encouraged him reach out to touch and to reach out to get a reaction and/or sound. What really makes this a brilliant product are the Playscope cards that come with the products with loads of ideas on how to use them for a range of ages from birth to toddler and even up to the age of five. I think the items could be used for a long time and can help children to develop a love of story time and independent play. The items were of a high quality and it is definitely a benefit that they were machine washable. These are products that I would definitely recommend to family and friends.”

“We absolutely love the Flower Rug and Sluggy! They’re used every day. The babies adore them. They love the fiddle ribbons. The babies crawl towards the ribbons on the mat of their own accord. The babies gravitate to the mat and love to sit on it unprompted. We use the mat and Sluggy for music sessions with six to twelve month olds sitting around the edge of the mat. Sluggy is brilliant for tummy time. We found it worked particularly well with babies who are reluctant to go on their tummies. Sluggy gives the lift and some arm movement to make this ‘less scary’ so it’s fantastic for that. We’re going to use Sluggy with a 2 and a half year old blind boy who has no upper body muscle control as we think this will really benefit him. I couldn’t be more positive about it as we use it all the time.
