Slug in a Rug, is a beautiful soft play sleeping bag, with a supported, decorated, colourful cushion, which can be used for babies to toddlers. The Velcro attachments form the sleep from base to top assembly. The babies here were keen to explore the colouring ribbons and eager to take a nap in the ‘nest’ as they called it. An easy way for naptimes to pull out this piece of equipment. Safe and secure. Fun and pretty to the eye.
The slug in a rug is a lovely resource for the younger children in the setting (under 2’s) as it’s main purpose (we have found) is that of an activity mat or soft play area our very happy young children can ‘roll’ around on. I think a feature suggested is it’s potential to act as a ‘bedding’ product, I’m not sure if I would agree, it is very thin and potentially quite uncomfortable. However it is portable, very easy to carry around, durable, soft and unique shape. So with that in mind a product I would recommend. It is very much a firm favourite with my team of staff in the baby unit and used regullary, the circular shape supports the shape of our holistic toy boxes and therefore it becomes part of the play session without distracting the children’s attention away from the resources provided. (This incorporates the possibility of it being a facilitator to the EYFS (early learning goals)
