These mats feature faces with easily recognisable emotions (happy, sad, angry and worried) designed by and for children. They cultivate children's personal, social and emotional development in line with SEAL. By helping children to recognise emotions in others as well as themselves they can begin to understand their own feelings. The mats promote discussions about children's own experiences and are particularly useful with young children, who are not yet able to verbalise their feelings e.g. when used as stepping stones the strength of emotion conveyed is suprising. The visually distinctive design is great for children with visual impairments. Designed for use on their own as floor mats and play resources or with the Multi-Coloured Floor Mats, they are made in the UK from azo-free fleece and fully machine washable. Velcro backed for flexible use this is also great for developing gross and fine motor skills and will appeal to children with SEN.
